CURRENT: Rankin’s Ten Times Rosie

Rankin, a photographer best known for his creative portraits of influential politicians, artists and musicians but also highly respected in the fashion scene for co-founding Dazed and Confused in the early nineties, recently opened a new exhibition in his privately owned Annroy Gallery in Kentish Town, London.

The exhibition, named Ten Times Rosie, is first and foremost a celebration of luxury fashion label Thomas Wylde, whose founder and head designer Paula Thomas gained international acclaim with her wild and diverse collections. For the series shot by Rankin, British top model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley embodied the different styles used by Thomas in the first ten seasons of the label.

The opening was on 21 September, conveniently in the middle of London Fashion Week and coincided with the launch of the accompanying publication, a glossy, high-end fashion photography book.

Both exhibition and publication are a tribute to fashion as well as photography. The works show a great sense of style, creativity and diversity from both Thomas and Rankin and the result is a rich mixture of dark, sexy and sensational photographs.

Ten Times Rosie (£40) is available to purchase from Turnaround, www.turnaround-uk.com and all good bookstores.
